Bacon

Yesterday morning I was making breakfast. I asked the kids "Who wants a piece of bacon?" They all start saying, "Me me me me me me" Very loudly as if they drowned out the other sibling they would get theirs first. I had 3 pieces in my hand and handed them to the older children. Lexie had joined the "me" chorus and when I had turned around to go get her piece of bacon she thought she wasn't going to get any. So she starts shrieking "ME ME ME ME!!!" and at one last attempt she screams her name "LEXIE!!!!" I didn't even know she knew how to say her name. No one has ever heard her say it but apparently all she needed was the right motivation.

"D-U-N"

Last night Jackson was in the shower, and I called to him, "Jackson, are you done yet?" He says, "Yes, I am done." I started to tease him and said, "What? You're Dumb?" Jackson says, "NO! I am DONE!" I asked again "You're dumb?" Jackson then says, "No MOM, I am done!!! D-U-N!"
"Oh okay..."

The value of a hard days work...

Claire was in the kitchen carrying around a plastic Winnie the Pooh plate. We heard a crash and Claire says "I broke the plate." I said, "well, just throw it away then" Brandon asks, "Claire, Do you know how many days it took me to earn the money to buy that plate?" Claire asks, "How many?" Brandon says, "Like 4 whole days!" Claire says, "Well, that's not very many."

My little man

Jackson was outside in the garage the other day helping Brandon. Brandon came inside to get a couple things and shortly afterwards Jackson came in asking for a bandaid. The conversation went as follows:
Stacie: Hi jackson
Jackson: Hi Mom, Can I have a bandaid? I hurt my hand.
Stacie: How did you hurt your hand? Were you playing with Dad's tools? You know you are not supposed to do that unless he's there...
Brandon: Jackson!!! What have I told you about messing with my tools?
Jackson: But Dad!! I was trying to be a MAN!
