During the holiday months the town of Castle Rock light a large star that sits on the top of Castle Rock. They even have a little Christmas festival during the day and then a lighting ceremony at night. Well, the Schmidts, Smiths, Tyson and Miranda and our family decided to go check it out. To be honest the night was a little anticlimactic and very cold. And I don't think I could convince anyone of them to return next year but at least we made a memory right?

Fun memories! You have to do it once. The first year we were in Indianapolis we went downtown to a lighting of a tree ceremony. It was fun, no kids. While in NYC we never went to the Thanksgiving parade (we were always back west visiting family in CA and watching it on tv) and we also never went to see the lighting of the tree at Rockefeller Center or the Ball drop on New Year's Eve in time square. Way too cold for that!
